Music Scholarships

Cantabile School of Music offers a program specifically catered to students who wish to obtain music scholarships within secondary colleges in Melbourne.

General processes a music scholarship applicant may go through include filling in an application form, sitting an audition followed by an interview, as well as sitting an academic examination.

In auditions, students will be required to play prepared pieces and some technical work. They may also be asked to sight read, and complete an aural test at the AMEB level expected.

Applicants may also be required to present a written statement, a supporting reference from their music teacher, their most recent NAPLAN results, academic reports, as well as music examination reports and evidence of any other musical achievements.

Candidates must show musical promise, and the commitment and willingness to participate in and be a part of the respective school’s music program.

Please note that not all schools have music scholarships on offer, and the requirements are not the same across all schools.
