Piano Lessons at Cantabile

Piano lessons are one of the most popular choices for lessons at the Cantabile School of Music. Many of our students love learning the piano since it is such a versatile instrument. This makes learning the piano a great way to start off your musical journey, especially if you are still discovering music or have never tried learning a musical instrument before.

“The beginner piano lessons were an excellent starting point for my daughter. The instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and passionate, and the class provided a solid foundation for future growth and learning. I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking to start their musical journey.”

What do you learn in our Piano Lessons?

For many of our beginner piano students, the recommended curriculum our teachers use is the Piano Adventures series by Faber. It is the teaching method of choice at leading university programs and music studios around the world, as it presents a comprehensive approach to learning the piano in an enjoyable and engaging way.

Our piano lessons will always incorporate the following, tailored to your level and stage in learning:

  • Repertoire and music
  • Proper pedagogy and technique on your instrument
  • Musicianship and aural skills
  • Music theory and general knowledge

Music Examinations for Piano

Our music school takes pride in offering our students the opportunity to undertake the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) examinations. Since opening our school in 2016, we have had over 400 students complete their AMEB Examinations with us. Many of our piano students have achieved excellent results. These assessments are recognised nationwide as a measure of musical ability and are an excellent way for students to challenge themselves and showcase their skills.

Performance Opportunities

Many parents love to see their children perform. During the year, our school hosts a variety of music performance opportunities for our piano students to gain confidence, performing experience and stage presence.

Amongst these performance opportunities, many of our students participate in our bi-annual Student Recitals, which are usually held during June and November. Throughout the year we hold other performance opportunities and events for students to gain even more performance experience and to share their love of music with others.
